by Ian Millington, from the Community
Use this electricity substation inspection report to systematically assess site security, structures, and critical equipment. Verify doors, gates, locks, fencing, roof and walls, gutters, windows, panic doors, safety and electric shock notices, fire equipment, lighting, heating, trenches and covers, ventilation, and overall housekeeping. Inspect transformer condition, paintwork, signs of overheating, oil levels and leaks, silica breather, and tap changer security. Check HV switchgear including labels, operating handles, relays and meters, relay flags, oil and gas pressures, and padlocking. Review LV fuseboard, cable condition, earthing systems, battery and charger, test plugs, earthing attachments, and network diagram. Record evidence of trespass or vandalism, perform a discharge test, note issues and corrective actions, and capture signatures.
