This HV substation inspection checklist, developed by CBRE Managed Services, supports routine visual inspections of high voltage substations. Use it to verify access control, locks, fencing, doors, lighting, louvers, gutters and drainage, housekeeping, communication systems, and emergency contacts. Inspect HV switchgear for abnormal noise, labels, charging handles, cables, glands, earthing, gas pressure and oil or compound leaks. Review transformer condition including temperature, oil level and samples, breather, silica gel, paintwork and overgrowth. Confirm battery chargers, heaters, mats, signage, CPR notices, site schematics and logbooks are in place. Record defects, add photos, raise work orders, and capture signatures.
