This BLEC meter audit checklist helps utility teams verify electric meter functionality, programming, and security in the field. Capture meter and ERT numbers, confirm service type (overhead, underground, CT’d, three phase), and record display readings. Check programming ports and update program IDs as needed. Inspect seals for integrity and signs of tampering at the meter base and weatherhead. Using appropriate PPE, assess connections for corrosion or looseness, validate voltage and current, and document actions taken. Add photos of the meter and paperwork, note corrective actions, and obtain signatures.
