6-Monthly Mobile Generator Maintenance Schedule
by David Hill, from the Community
Use this 6-monthly maintenance schedule to inspect and service mobile generator plants. The checklist covers alternator and engine checks (oil, filters, belts, coolant, leaks), battery condition and voltages, bunding and spill controls, solar input, and fire extinguisher status. Verify control panel operation with meter and lamp tests, perform RCD testing, and exercise the main generator breaker. Inspect canopy lights, locks, and solar mounting; confirm earthing continuity and general condition. Include protection and emergency stop tests, plus cable cabinet, trailer, and equipment box inspections where applicable. Record maintenance details, engine and kW hours, next service due, and work order numbers.
