This walk checklist helps childcare and early years staff prepare safely before taking children off-site. It covers weather and UV checks, pushchair safety, charged mobile phone, and having all contact details. Ensure snacks and drinks are ready and allergy appropriate, a qualified first aider attends, and any required medication and a first aid kit are packed. Include the latest offsite risk assessment, and stock the bag with nappies, wipes, mat, spare clothes, comforters, and high-visibility items. Take child photos on the walk tablet for identification and complete staff and manager sign-offs with date and time.
