SEQ Schools Fire Ant Inspection and Monitoring Record
by Chris Bailey, from the Community
This template helps SEQ schools systematically record fire ant surveillance and onsite monitoring. It guides staff to check lawns, footpaths, garden beds, taps, utility pits, dams and irrigation lines, fence lines, and piles of organic matter for signs of nests and activity. Document location details, evidence of mounds or disturbed soil, ant behavior, and size and color. Log actions taken, notifications to Biosecurity and FM Helpdesk, and attach photos and signatures. Use PPE and follow biosecurity zone guidance for compliance.
