This school playground inspection checklist helps facility and safety teams evaluate overall area conditions, surfacing depth and quality, borders, and play equipment. It guides checks for protrusion, pinch, shear, entanglement and entrapment hazards, verifies fasteners and foundations, and reviews chains, connectors, slides, swings, climbers and track rides. It also covers surfacing performance in fall zones, water pooling, access routes, signage and supervision. The checklist references ASTM F1487, F2223 and F1292 as well as the CPSC Public Playground Safety Handbook to support safer play environments in education settings.
