It guides checks for firefighting and first aid equipment, availability of PPE and safety screens, condition of electrical fittings and gas burners, and closure of gas taps. Inspectors can verify water supply and drainage, fume cupboard operation and cleanliness, floor conditions, and storage controls for hazardous, corrosive, reactive, and radioactive materials. It includes spill kit readiness, access to safety data sheets, chemical quantity limits, and secure storage (including lasers). It also covers segregation and preparation of chemical wastes, leak-free storage pails and trays, unobstructed exits and passages, and end-of-day laboratory security.
