HVAC Commissioning Checklist
Use this HVAC commissioning checklist to verify the installation, setup, and performance of building HVAC systems before handover. Sections cover programmable thermostats, DX air cooled condensing units, VAV terminals, and variable air volume handling units. Verify power availability, motor rotation, safety protections, and interlocks; check refrigerant piping, coil condition, condensate drainage, and maintenance clearances. Confirm control valves and dampers are installed and operable, sensors are correctly located and calibrated, and air volume controllers function. Complete Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing, submit TAB reports, and validate airflow results against design drawings. Capture completion notes and sign-offs from the inspector, installer, and contractor to document a safe, efficient start up.
