Use this pre-work assessment to complete a safe start at the beginning of each shift. Confirm SWMS are available and understood, verify depot inductions, check the SDS and hazardous substances register, ensure power tools and electrical leads are tested and tagged, and confirm a stocked first aid kit. Cover toolbox talk topics such as preventing falls, site PPE, access points, incident reporting and emergency exits. Record ladder compliance with AS1657:2018, select ladder types and inspect for damage. Verify PPE (hi-vis, steel-capped boots) and capture team sign-offs.
