Use this pre-use inspection checklist to assess fall arrest harnesses before work at height. Confirm the product is within manufacturer lifespan, then perform visual and tactile checks for abrasion, furry webbing, cut or broken stitching, cuts to load-bearing parts, and dirt buildup. Inspect for chemical or heat damage, discoloration, hardened areas, and powdery surfaces. Verify fastening and adjustment buckles are correctly assembled and free of wear, corrosion, cracks, or other damage. Remove any suspect equipment from service.
