Site Set-Up Checklist for Construction Projects
by David Johnston, from the Community
This Site Set-Up (site mobilisation) checklist helps Project and Site Managers establish a safe, compliant construction site from day one and maintain standards throughout the project. It covers access and egress, traffic management and signage; welfare facilities and office setup; visible safety information and legal postings; key documents including CPP, CEMP, TMP, MSRA, and job-specific safety plans; inductions, training, and toolbox talks; safety monitoring and audit schedules; comprehensive emergency preparedness with first aid, AED, alarms, and rescue procedures; incident reporting requirements; and plant, equipment, and lifting compliance (LOLER/PUWER), inspections, and records. Use it to brief teams, verify controls, and keep critical information current.
