Silentnight Safety Harness Inspection Checklist
by Jake Wiggins, from the Community
This safety harness inspection checklist helps teams verify fall protection equipment before use. Capture general information, location, and photos; confirm obsolescence and LOLER tag details; and identify equipment type. Inspect full body harness webbing for cuts, heat or chemical damage, UV exposure, tears, frayed edges, and extra holes. Check anchor points, D rings, buckles, grommets, rivets, and straps. Review lanyards and adaptors for wear and locking function, and test karabiner latch operation. Validate fall arrest components and ensure the lifeline pack is intact. Conclude with an overall rating and clear recommendations, then sign off to complete the inspection.
