Sierra Construction Site Safety Inspection Checklist
by Chris Kevil, from the Community
Use this Sierra Construction Site Safety Inspection checklist to assess general site conditions, housekeeping, safety signage, and accident prevention documentation. Verify first aid supplies, MSDS availability, PPE use, lighting, capped vertical hazards, fire extinguishers, temporary power, fuel storage, masonry and tilt-up bracing, access, equipment alarms, and puncture hazards. Review safe storage of oxygen and combustibles. Inspect ladders and scaffolds for condition, setup, access, guardrails, planking, and electrical clearances. Check vehicles and mobile equipment for seatbelt use and safe speeds. Evaluate fall protection systems, openings, leading edges, warning lines, and anchor points. Assess excavation and trenching for proper sloping/shoring, access, barricades, and wall stability. Ensure public protection through barricades, secure fencing, lighting, traffic control, clear walkways, and marked elevation changes.
