SAFEbuilt TPLE Inspection Checklist

This SAFEbuilt TPLE inspection checklist helps verify short-term or transient lodging properties meet local code and safety requirements. Inspectors can document arrival details, property address, contact and phone, and add a photo of the property. Interior notices should display occupancy limits, vehicle limits, parking, noise and occupancy rules, operator name and phone, the physical street address, and emergency and non-emergency numbers. The checklist covers documentation such as DBPR, BTR, and TPLE licenses and the presence of a visible QR code. Life-safety items include pool alarms, barriers and gates, smoke detectors per the applicable code or FBC Existing, carbon monoxide detectors where required, fire extinguishers, and whether the building is sprinklered. Building egress checks include bedroom escape openings for 1- and 2-family units and two means of egress for multi-family units. Additional items include side yard garbage pick-up verification, notes, code enforcement follow-up, and office entry details.
