Rigging SIF RMVP Verification Checklist
by Gary Meighen-Watts, from the Community
This Serious Injury Fatality Road Map Verification for Rigging helps verify that high risk lifting and rigging activities are controlled. Use it to confirm shift visual inspections of rigging gear, maintain a rigging register, and ensure lifting plans exist for identified high risk operations. Check that team members are trained in rigging selection and use, that zero tolerance rules are documented and shared, and that tag lines are provided and used to keep hands off loads. Validate thorough examinations by a competent person and removal of defective equipment from service. Record verification details, outcomes against MM1, and capture signatures and timestamps for compliance.
