Pre-Start Initial Site Survey Checklist

This pre-start initial site survey checklist helps teams assess a project site before construction begins. Capture the full site address, surroundings, access and delivery routes, and compound setup needs. Record utilities and temporary connections, ground conditions for MEWPs, cabins, cranes, and scaffolding, and identify nearby risks such as overhead lines, watercourses, railways, or schools. Review health and safety factors, asbestos evidence, noise limits, and public interfaces. Plan temporary works including hoarding, excavation support, scaffolding, roof edge protection, and craneage. Note store-specific items, lifts, lighting, sprinklers, and storage. Coordinate recycling, working hours, and roles and responsibilities.
