This checklist helps organizations commission new or hired plant and equipment safely. It guides teams through key controls including risk assessments, operator training and manuals, insurance, clear access and egress, pre-start checks, guarding of moving parts and nip points, functioning brakes, horns, lights, mirrors, beacons and seatbelts, reversing cameras, wipers and wash. It includes checks for leaks, tyres and wheel chocks; secure cables, hoses and hatches; fire extinguishers; emergency stops and isolators; adequate lighting, ventilation and signage; noise and hazardous substances; temperature risk areas; stability; fluid levels; and final sign-off by responsible managers.
