by Christopher Cole, from the Community
Use this wheel loader inspection checklist to perform preventative maintenance and safety checks on heavy equipment. Capture front, rear, left, and right photos and hour meter readings, assess operational status, and follow a structured service schedule at 250, 500, 1000, 2000, and 3000 hours. Verify critical systems including engine oil and filters, fuel filters, coolant levels and samples, V-belts, transmission and hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, differentials, batteries, air filters, and cutting edges. Test safety features such as backup alarm, seat belts, brakes, and gauges. Include lubrication of all fittings and pivot pins, cleaning of cabin air filters, and specialized tasks like inspecting ROPS, cleaning magnetic strainers, and adding coolant additives as required. Record technician notes and signatures for complete documentation.
