IDI Top Of Wall Safing Prior to Spray Quality Control
by Peter Graham, from the Community
This construction quality control checklist helps verify top of wall safing conditions before fire spray application. It guides QAQC inspectors through confirming current drawings and specifications, ensuring approved mineral wool and spray materials are on site, and checking drywall is set down from the substrate as required. It covers installation of speed plugs and speed strips, tight packing of mineral wool around beams, and absence of gaps at decking and between strip ends. It also verifies fire taping and screw inspections are complete, materials are cleaned up, and includes comments and sign off.
