Cavity Wall Pre-extraction and Cleaning Survey
by Sean Glossop, from the Community
This pre-extraction and cavity cleaning survey template supports inspections of failed cavity wall insulation prior to removal. It captures client and property details, construction age and type, heating and secondary heat sources, external finishes and condition, and any remedial works required. Inspectors can document internal issues such as damp or mould, ventilation and mechanical fans, air vents needing sleeving, adjoining insulation, omitted areas, and average cavity depths. The form covers materials to be extracted (fibre, foam, rockwool, polystyrene bead, debris), elevation photos and boroscope checks, and summary findings with reasons for extraction. It also includes a dynamic risk assessment and client declaration to support safe, compliant operations.
