MEP Existing Building Conditions Review Checklist
by Caleb Gentry, from the Community
This MEP existing building conditions review template guides engineers and site teams through comprehensive assessments during building walkthroughs. Document natural gas service, electrical supply and equipment including service entry, meters, disconnects, transformers, and panels; interior and site lighting; water heaters; sanitary sewer and grease interceptors; domestic water and backflow devices; and mechanical and HVAC systems. Record equipment tonnages, voltages, phases, and preferred HVAC types such as RTU, traditional split, ducted or ductless mini-split, VRF, and kitchen exhaust. Note ductwork reuse, heating methods, and add photos, nameplates, and plan locations to streamline scoping and design.
