Operative Health, Safety and Environmental Inspection
by Kriss Nash, from the Community
This operative health, safety and environmental inspection checklist helps supervisors verify safe working practices on site. It covers core documentation such as risk assessments, COSHH and permits to work, along with ID requirements. Personal protective equipment and first aid readiness are assessed, as well as the condition and testing of tools, equipment, RCDs and power supplies. The checklist includes asbestos awareness, correct access equipment and work at height controls, and job specific safety checks. Vehicle and welfare standards are verified, including roadworthiness, housekeeping, racking, hygiene supplies and eyewash. Environmental controls address waste storage, hazardous waste disposal, recycling, and waste carrier licensing. Findings are recorded with actions for non conformities and photo evidence for compliance and assurance.
