Groundworks Health and Safety Support Visit
by Harrison Coady, from the Community
This groundworks health and safety support visit checklist helps supervisors and auditors review site documentation and controls, including the site-specific health and safety file, information boards, insurance, inductions, training records, face fit certificates, toolbox talks, and weekly inspections. It covers site setup and welfare, first aid, fire precautions, traffic routes, secure storage, signage, and spill response. Plant and equipment checks include PAT testing, lifting gear examination, beacons, greasing, mirrors, lights, alarms, warning labels, seatbelts, and safe attachment use. Workplace controls address work near services following HSG47, CAT and genny availability and calibration, edge protection, and housekeeping. PPE requirements ensure hard hats, hi-vis, boots, and correct wear. Use this template to standardize and document construction safety support visits.
