Use this welding readiness checklist before starting any weld. Confirm welder certifications and procedures, verify pipe grade, wall thickness, size, and drawings, and check bevel prep. Validate required preheat with temp sticks, ensure proper electrodes (Lo-Hi) handling and storage or rod oven use, and confirm materials in use match the WPS. Review valve protection and weld shield removal, apply splatter mats to protect coatings, and secure grounding leads. Record RFIs for any design changes and involve foreman, inspector, and welder in verification to uphold quality and safety.
