This first fix joinery checklist helps carpenters and site managers verify that structural timber and openings are ready for follow-on trades. It covers risk assessment, material quality and preservation, fixing methods, window and door frame installation, plumb and line of grounds, partition and timber framework construction, joist spacing with hangers and struts, coordination of services, cleanliness below joist level, floor boarding with glued T&G joints, priming and sealing of knots before fitting, installation of fire barriers, and protection measures.
