WAFarmers Bike and Quad Bike Safety Checklist
by Trevor Whittington, from the Community
Use this WAFarmers checklist to improve safety when operating farm bikes and quad bikes. Confirm riders wear compliant helmets and footwear, set property speed limits, and carry loads per manufacturer guidance. Verify operators are trained and machines are maintained. Check towed accessories against weight limits and ensure attachments meet manufacturer requirements. Assess terrain and hazards considering slope, weather, and surface. Confirm transport procedures for loading, tying down, and unloading are followed. Ensure warning decals are legible, keys are secured away from children, and no passengers are carried unless the bike is designed for it.
