School Bus Pre-trip Inspection Checklist
by Quality Control IES, from the Community
This school bus pre-trip inspection checklist helps drivers and fleet supervisors complete a thorough vehicle check before routes. Inspect under-hood components such as belts, hoses, oil and coolant levels. Walk around to review doors, tires and wheel lugs, glass and mirrors, and check for leaks. Inside the bus, confirm seat and belt condition and mirror alignment. Start the engine to test warning buzzers, lights, wipers, horn, parking and service brakes, gauges, and air conditioning. Record washer fluid added, note recommendations, and sign off to document readiness and compliance before transporting students.
