Port of Townsville Environmental Site Inspection
by Ethan Fricke, from the Community
Use this checklist to conduct Port of Townsville environmental site inspections across berths, roads, parks, and adjacent waterways. Verify PPE and induction readiness, then assess air quality and dust suppression, drainage and stormwater, erosion and sediment controls, hazardous materials storage and labelling, hydrocarbon bunding and spill response, pest and weed risks, and waste segregation and housekeeping. Record observations by location, note weather, and capture actions for issues such as visible emissions, uncovered loads, sump integrity, and litter.
