McPherson Driver Reversing Training Checklist

Use this McPherson training checklist to evaluate reversing procedures for commercial vehicles. Verify licensing, pre-manoeuvre area checks, road surface condition, lowering double-deck platforms and securing doors and safety chains, correct ladder storage, adherence to speed limits, right-of-way for pedestrians and forklifts, proper mirror use, activation of safety features such as cameras and reverse sounders, adequate space and obstacle clearance, lighting for night operations, weather impacts, and the presence and training of a banksman. Record performance, determine if further driver training is required, and capture instructor comments.
