Use this FLT pre-shift checklist to complete a quick, structured daily inspection before operating a forklift. Record vehicle identification and fuel level, then verify forks, mast, lift chains, hydraulics, wheels and tyres, bodywork, oil, coolant and hydraulic fluids. Check controls, seat and seat belt, warning indicators, lights, horn, beacon, reversing alarm, acceleration, braking, handbrake and steering. Capture defects, classify severity, and sign off whether the vehicle is safe to use.
