Electric Forklift Pre-Use Inspection Checklist
by Stephen Tripovic, from the Community
This OSHA-aligned pre-use checklist helps operators inspect electric forklift trucks before each shift. It covers key-off and key-on procedures, checking structural components such as overhead guard, mast, lift chains, forks, hydraulics, wheels and tires, as well as critical systems including steering, brakes, lights, horn, seat and seat belt, gauges, and the battery and discharge indicator. Use it to document forklift ID, location, inspector details, findings, and signatures, ensuring defects are caught early, downtime is reduced, and workplace safety and compliance are improved across warehouses, logistics hubs, and production sites.
