Crew Boat and Survey Boat Inspection & Log
by Casey Thibodaux, from the Community
This crew and survey boat inspection and log template helps marine teams verify vessel readiness and document operations. Sections cover engines (oil levels, leaks, bilge operation, powerhead, lower units), hull and deck condition, hatches, doors, windows, fuel tank, and mooring lines. Electronics and controls include wiring, battery security, navigation and spot lights, VHF radio, and general functionality. Safety items reference USCG requirements such as fire extinguisher, first aid kit, horn, flares, life ring with rope, PFDs, and housekeeping to prevent trip hazards. The log captures work performed, trip start/stop, engine hours, other operators, and safety concerns for traceability and compliance.
