Retail Sprinkler Pump System Test Checklist

by Mauricio Silva, from the Community

Downloads: 0

Conduct weekly tests of the retail fire sprinkler pump system to ensure readiness and compliance. This checklist covers inspecting the water storage tank and level indicators, confirming ball valve operation, and checking ladders and access platforms are secure. Verify the pump house is clear of storage and that the minimum temperature has not dipped below 10 degrees C and does not rise by more than 10 degrees C during testing. Test the jockey, electric, and diesel pumps by simulating pressure reduction, record cut in pressures, and return valves to normal. Run pumps for at least 5 minutes, confirm visual and audible alarms at the remote indicator panel, and perform manual starts from the controller if fitted. Close test valves, shut down safely, and document observations, signatures, and dates.
