This checklist supports the safe design and construction of mine roads and intersections. It covers design approvals, material selection, road widths for single and double lanes, crossfall and camber, alignment and superelevation, grades for permanent and temporary roads, drainage and water control, sight distances based on typical minimum standards, safety berm requirements and dimensions, signage and delineation to AS 1742, management of roadside hazards and overhead clearances, lighting where required, and detailed intersection layout and visibility checks including centre bunds and traffic control. It also includes field testing and signoff steps for designers, supervisors, OCE and site senior executives.
