This FM-OHS-001 Planned Inspection Checklist is designed for mining operations to standardize monthly or routine OHS inspections across surface and underground areas. It covers buildings and work areas, lighting, hygiene and sanitation, storage, aisles and walkways, equipment and machinery, laydown yards, electrical switchgear, ladders, lifting equipment, compressors, gas cylinders, portable electrical tools, and general chemical management. Environmental and waste controls include segregation of wastes, hydrocarbon handling, spill kits, sewage systems, skimmers, and bund wall inspections. Vehicle and mobile equipment checks, fire extinguishing equipment readiness, color coding, notices and signs, and PPE compliance are included. A general hazards review prompts identification of strike, caught-in, overexertion, slip, trip, fall, and exposure risks. The template includes a hazard log for recording issues that need follow-up, assigning responsible persons, and tracking corrective actions to closure.
