Tailings Filter Building Operational Checklist
by Jeremy Wallace, from the Community
This checklist supports safe, efficient operations in Tailings Filter Buildings at mining sites. It guides teams through reagent handling, floc batching, and MIBC and diesel areas, with emphasis on safety chains, signage, eyewash stations, spill kits, and leak checks. Operational inspections cover cloth wash pumps, module pumps, conveyors, and BN/CV systems, including guards, lubrication, belt tension, vibration, tracking, and gearbox condition. Filter press checks include cloth condition, belt pressure and tracking, doctor blades, seals, TARP parameter adherence, wedge wipers, sprays, and air/oil/water separators. Housekeeping standards are reinforced throughout: clear floors and underpans, rolled hoses, adequate lighting, and removal of tools and waste. Use this template to document findings, raise SAP notifications, and maintain compliance and performance.
