AMG Underground Haul Truck Inspection Checklist
by Carl Neudorf, from the Community
This underground haul truck inspection checklist supports mining teams in evaluating critical systems before and after operation. It covers pre-start checks, PPE, walk-arounds, and functional tests, followed by detailed cab inspections, gauges and warning lights, ROPS and FOPS tags, and decals. Mechanical sections include engine, cooling, intake and exhaust, alternator and starter, transmission and torque converter with pressure readings, front and rear axles, and driveline components. It guides thorough brake measurements, pressures, and accumulator pre-charge, plus hydraulic system pressures, pumps, cylinders, and steering. Structural checks address frame pins, bushings, box and hoist components, and seat belts. Electrical checks include batteries, lighting, harnesses, and dash. It also includes pump flow testing, fire suppression verification, and recording key machine identifiers and specifications for compliance and safe underground operations.
