This Workshop Site Inspection checklist helps advisors systematically assess workshop safety and compliance. It covers welfare areas (kitchens, lockers, washing, first aid), fire equipment and alarms, housekeeping, access and egress, signage, electrics and lighting. It includes detailed checks for machinery guarding, welding bays, tools and equipment, lifting gear and cranes, LEV systems, traffic management, floor conditions, PPE and personal alarms. Storage and hazardous substances controls (flammables, gases, bunded areas, racking) are addressed alongside office safety. Documentation and management elements such as permits, safe systems of work, risk assessments (manual handling, COSHH, noise), consultation minutes, incident recording, training and contractor control are included. Routine inspections (PUWER, LOLER, forklifts, pressure systems, metalworking fluids, racking, ladders, roller shutters, fire equipment) and environmental controls (waste, spillages, noise, energy, emissions) are also covered.
