Weekly Racking and Storage Inspection Zest Safety Ltd
by David Brown, from the Community
Use this weekly racking and storage inspection checklist to keep warehouses and production areas safe. Verify base impact protectors around racking where forklifts or WAVE machines operate, check for damage to frames, beams, and braces, and confirm rack netting to prevent falling items. Review mezzanine storage is kept below handrail height and that gates, lifts, and edges have proper fall protections. Inspect palletized goods for secure placement and leaning, limit free‑standing pallets to safe heights, remove damaged pallets, and keep stacks straight with adequate gaps. Ensure pallets are stored at safe distances from buildings and at least 1.5 meters below lighting or sprinkler systems. Record findings, note corrective actions, and sign off to maintain ongoing compliance and safety.
