Use this pre-use overhead crane inspection to verify that critical components are safe and ready before lifting. Checklist covers pendant controls (buttons, E-stop, labels, tether, cable), structural condition (cracks, connections, bumpers, limit flags, bus, guards), operational tests (control response, travel brakes, abnormal sounds, block and hook movement), hook assembly (deformation, safety latch, swivel, sheaves, wire rope), and rigging (capacity, ratings, condition, clear lift zone). If unsafe, lock out the crane, notify a supervisor, and log the hazard. Complete at least once every 24 hours.
