Use this Jib Hoist Inspection checklist to assess hoist, cross travel, electrical, and structural components before returning equipment to service. Verify chain condition and pitch, hooks and safety latches, overload clutch, motors and air gap, couplings, mountings, and transmission noise. Check trolley type and fit to rail, gearboxes for leaks, limit switches and sensors, pendant or radio controls, isolators and signage. Review power supply systems including bus bars or catenary, cable condition and tension. Evaluate structural integrity, coatings, bolts, balance, foundations, and service life in line with Australian standards, including guidance for major inspection and continued safe use. Record delays, JSA controls, defects, photos, and signatures, tag out unsafe cranes, and schedule maintenance or replacement.
