This Hot Work Permit template helps teams plan and authorize hot work such as welding, cutting, grinding, sanding, drilling, or heating. Capture the site and date, list who is conducting the permit, and note the exact location with photos. Identify hazards like combustible materials, flammable liquids and gases, radiation flashes, sparks, and dust. Record the controls you will implement, including welding screens, wetting down, barricades, welding blankets, and a designated fire watch. Acknowledge understanding of hazards and controls, then obtain approval and final sign off 30 minutes after work is complete. Intended as a starting point only and not a substitute for professional advice.
