Use this weekly forklift operators checklist to document visual and operational safety checks before use. Verify damage, leaks, tires and wheels, forks, chains, cables, hoses, battery condition and retention, and guards. Confirm safety devices, controls, steering, brakes, parking brake, hydraulics, attachments, limit switches, and charge status. For guided trucks, test wire guidance and end aisle controls. Record defects and repairs, and remove unsafe trucks from service until restored.
