Use this checklist to keep emergency eyewash stations and safety showers ready for use. Perform weekly or risk assessed monthly flushes, complete a 10 second flow test, and confirm access is clear, signage is visible, and fittings are correct. Check flow rate and activation, verify drainage, and record dates and locations for each unit. Based on AS 4775 guidance, incorporate eyewash and shower operation into inductions and laboratory training so personnel know how to respond in an emergency. This routine inspection helps prevent rust, scale, and chemical build up in plumbing and ensures compliance and readiness across industrial and laboratory areas.
