Hazardous Chemical Compliance Checklist (QLD WHS)
by Adrian Niebling, from the Community
This hazardous chemical compliance checklist helps workplaces meet Queensland WHS Regulations 2011 Chapter 7.1. It guides PCBUs to verify correct labelling for containers and pipework, maintain current safety data sheets, keep an accessible hazardous chemical register, and prepare manifests and regulator notifications when Schedule 11 quantities are exceeded. It covers placarding requirements, spill containment and compatibility controls, protection of containers and pipework, and fit-for-purpose fire protection. The checklist also prompts emergency planning, equipment availability, and reviews with emergency services, along with safe storage and handling practices, worker supervision and training, and health monitoring where required.
