Use this Utilities Management Safety Tour checklist to help leadership observe field activities and verify safe work practices across utility sites. Review access and egress, welfare provisions, machine and pedestrian interface controls, operator competency, and safe digging in line with HSG 47. Confirm PPE compliance and vehicle loading, and check critical tools and calibrations including CAT and Genny, electrofusion and generator servicing, BA kit, HACH kit, pressure test gauges, data loggers, Gasco-Seeker, bullhorns, PAT-tested leads, and more. Validate presence of emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid, plus documentation like NERS, GIRS, and WIRS. Capture additional observations, assign actions, and sign off with auditor and auditee to drive continuous improvement.
