NFPA 110 Generator Testing Checklist
by FAC Maintenance Team, from the Community
This NFPA 110 generator testing checklist helps maintenance teams inspect and exercise emergency power systems for compliance with Section 8.4.1. Record equipment details, verify control modules, check for leaks, and assess diesel fuel, lubrication, cooling, intake, exhaust, and battery charger status. Capture electrical measurements including voltages, amperage, frequency, and load, along with load bank use and cooldown times. Track fuel levels before and after testing, document alarms and faults, attach photos, and add technician sign-off, comments, and recommendations.
