Customer Site Visit Checklist (Bitumen Delivery)
by Michal Karazniewicz, from the Community
This customer site visit checklist helps hauliers and site representatives manage safe bitumen deliveries to storage tanks. It covers first‑time induction, driver documentation, ullage confirmation, correct tank/flange connection, and reinstating flange security. It verifies clear vehicle access, exclusion zones, spill drainage, and emergency egress. Safety controls include signage for explosive atmospheres, eyewash/shower and extinguishers, bitumen‑specific PPE, tank labelling, visible gauges, and compliant temperatures. It checks HLA/HHLA alarms, pump interlocks, safe venting, pipework design, and monitoring via supervision or CCTV. For indoor tanks, it confirms restricted access and adequate ventilation.
