Safety Walk Checklist Management Walkaround
by Ramona Gouge, from the Community
This safety walk checklist helps managers conduct effective management walkarounds on active worksites. It covers housekeeping, fall protection, ladders, line roll safety, personal protective equipment, electrical safety, and hazard communication. Sections address tools and equipment checks including guards, saw use, compressed air limits, and utility knife practices; training and authorization such as forklift, hoist, and LOTO compliance; emergency preparedness with clear exits, fire extinguishers, and eyewash stations; and body mechanics and material handling, including proper lifting and team lifts. A team member assessment captures safety awareness, while photo evidence, comments, and signatures ensure findings are documented and corrective actions are assigned.
